I am a Strala Yoga Guide and Reiki Practioner, I was a Pilates Teacher and Personal Trainer and I have had the wonderful experience of supporting thousands of women of all ages accept and reconnect back to their body through movement. I have discovered that to support and care for others, I must take care of myself, therefore, I try to create space in my day to walk, cook, be near water, notice the moon  and sleep, so that I am able to guide women back to simple self care, movement and rest.

I am a member of Yoga Alliance, CIMPSA and insured with Holistic Therapies.

Why Yoga

For one chapter in my life, I was a Personal Trainer, Pilates teacher, competitive sports woman and marathon runner. I loved supporting women and exercising with friends. Running was my way to release emotion and a way to spend more time outside. But I always knew I needed softer tools with less pain, rules and stress on my body, to be well.  So, I searched and discovered Strala Yoga. Since my teenage years, I had tried many yoga classes but the language, poses, pain, rigidity and chaos of words and culture that I did not understand or feel a connection to, kept me away. But Strala yoga felt simple and kind. In the same way as running, it flowed, released tension and it felt natural, I connected with my breath and understood the language. There was nothing to remember, it was an easy way to move my whole self, making me feel softer, stronger and calmer in my every day. Yoga means “unite” I believe that when we slow down, listen, feel and move, we connect to ourselves, nature and the people around us. I am a 200hrs Strala Yoga Guide and will continue my training with Strala.

I gained my Pilates certificates at the Institute of Pilates in the 1990s and continued to train in Reformer Pilates, Pilates in Pregnancy and Remedial Pilates. I have continued my Pilates training with Body Control and have completed their bridging matwork course to keep up to date with research, however I did not take the final exams and I am not a certified Body Control Teacher. If you have been referred to a Pilates teacher by a medical professional I advise you seek a matwork pilates class or reformer class. However, because of my background, there will always be a thread of Pilates that runs through by class and one to one sessions.

I have always had a strong intuition to support people with my hands. Over the years Reiki has supported my own emotional and mental health therefore it felt natural to become a Reiki practitioner. Reiki is a gentle hands on or off healing method that promotes relaxation and well being, I believe that it settles the feeling or energy all around us. Quantum physics teaches us that everything is made up of energy, all physical matter is energy, low or high density. Our thoughts and emotions are also made up of energy, love and joy creates high energy, hate and fear create a low energy and there are many more in between. My belief is that during Reiki the energy all around you settles, you may feel at peace and calm, which is a lovely place to heal.

What is Reiki

I have an interest in the Menopause, ADHD and Parkinsons. I listen to many podcasts, read books and have completed the following workshops: 3rd age Woman Menopause Certificate with Jenny Burrell, a deeply positive peri to post menopause online course. The ADHD Energy and Mindset Reprogramme Course with Kate Moryoussef, an honest and inspiring dive into ADHD, energy, moon cycles and self care tools. Parkinsons pro course, designed to support the ability of the brain to make new neural pathways given the right stimulus.
