Me So Far

This is a story about me so far. It's not really a story, more a list of qualifications and certificates, sport and runs, CPDs and education because it's important that it's here, somewhere. Alongside this story, I urge you to read Midlife and Inspired by Heritage because there is a bit more…

I was quiet and quite sporty, played Junior England Lacrosse, gained a BA hons in Sport Studies at Northumbria University and continued my education with Premier Training becoming a personal trainer and massage therapist. I certified in an array of fitness trends: step, spin, aerobics…and trained with Michael King at the Pilates Institute in London and continued to experience the Body Control Pilates method, completing the training twice but not completing the




final exams because I had a few questions. I visited clients and created retreats in Sweden, France, London and Greece and set up a Pilates Studio in Whitby, North Yorkshire. I ran half Marathons and Marathons, my last being the Snowdonia Marathon. Through a personal need to slow down, soften and deal with challenges in a different way, I discovered Strala Yoga. I loved the simplicity of this form of yoga and felt the benefits in myself and in my every day, I became a certified 200hrs guide. I continued to find interest in energy healing and certified in RASA Reiki first and second degree. My focus continues to be in the world of women's wellbeing and through Burrell Education, I am a certified peri to post menopause instructor. CIMPSA is the professional body for the UK's sport and physical activity sector and I am a member. I have spent time working within the clinical team at www.orchardbarnhealth.com and remain part of their Holistic Team. I am also proud to be a Friend of findraclothing.com. I am happy by the sea and I love running, when I feel the urge, through the seasons.
